Cley 24th April

26 of April 2010

A smaller turn out than usual with several members already away on holiday or working for this Saturday match at Cley. In previous matches Cley has proved to be one of the more consistent venues with regular catches of good sized flounder and normally at this time of year some good bass show up

Springside Lake is fishing really well, and with the weather this weekend expected to be warm and sunny , bumper catches are going to be caught.  In the last week catches to 80lb of Bream and Carp have been caught, with plenty of the silverfish on maggot Roach and Rudd, one a chuck on the waggler and pole.

Toby Pepper had 14 Bream in the 4lb to 6lb range and a bonus Roach nearly 2 pound, from peg21 fishing corn over Sonubaits F1 Groundbait.  Len on peg 4 had 19 Bream same size , again fishing the pole at 9mtrs using corn over groundbait.   Alan Rowland has been bagging up on the Bream, taking 28 of them on the waggler.   The feeder might well be worth a try, as the Bream can move out of Pole range.   The margins are now starting to fish, as the Carp have now started to move out of the carpark reeds in search of food, several have been caught to low double figures.

Please note fishing is from platforms only, anyone found to be in breach of this rule will be asked to leave.  Also our baliffs will be asking to see current Rod Licenses , please make sure you have yours with you, or again you will be asked to leave.

The Evening Matches will start in early May, please look for notices in tackle shops , lake notice boards and local press.  Wednesday 12th May 2010 the lake will close at 3.30pm , to allow for a Inter-Schools match to take place.

Tight Lines Mick and Pep

17 anglers turned out for what can only be described as a perfect summers day, with bright sunny skys and flat calm seas, needless to say expectation from many were not high although the conditions could prove to be perfect for Smoothhound if they were starting to show and the rumour mill had suggested the
