Angling Times Supercup Dream Continues for Hunstanton Tackle
10 of May 2010
Hunstanton Tackle overcome there opponents in the 2nd Round of the Angling Times Supercup, fished on Snake Lake at Head Fen Ely, in pouring rain and high gusting winds. With Hunstanton fielding no fewer than 4 juniors in there 8 man squad, they came up against hard opposition from both Norwich Union and Dersingham Blue (last years finalists). Anglers all over the lake struggled to find fish, as the cold influx of water put fish off feeding. Hunstanton rod and local up and coming star, Jimmy Brooks (age 17) winning indvidual honours with a well deserved 30lbs dead. Timmy Pepper Hunstanton (13) was 3rd overall, which is nice to see we got some good young talent coming through. Hunstanton scored 4 section wins , and had a total of 14pts to take them through to the Semi-Finals at Moorlands Farm Worcestershire on Saturday 5th June. Can this mainly young squad go all the way, only time will tell now, certainly no lack of confidence shown as yet.
Team Result; 1st Hunstanton Tackle 14pts 2nd Dersingham Blue 16pts 3rd Norwich Union 19pts
Individual; 1st Jimmy Brooks 30lbs 0oz (Hunstanton) 2nd P.Cordy 24lbs 7oz (Norwich) 3rd Timmy Pepper 23lbs 4oz (Hunstanton)
