After a week’s break to allow some club members to fish with the big boys in the SAMF Masters on Orford it was back to our traditional venue of Kelling for the J Long Shield match and 2nd round of the North Norfolk Sea League.   As seems to be the norm these days the weather

HUNSTANTON TACKLE on FACEBOOK

23 of September 2011

Hunstanton Tackle has now got a community page on the social network “Facebook”.  Designed to give information on local fishing in West Norfolk.  There will be reports from how Springside Lake is fishing on a regular basis, and photo’s of catches in the area.  We would appreciate anglers putting posts and photo’s of there catches, be it sea or freshwater. Also Match Secretarys post your match results on here to.  We hope to have regular topics on the disussion page on a weekly basis.  Keep viewing the page for further updates as the season starts to get under way again.

With a switch from Kelling to Bacton to compensate for the recent lost match at Bacton, a rather depleted turnout met at the Castaways Holiday Park.  Many thanks from the club to Anna and Richard for allowing us to use their facilities.  A big ebbing  tide with plenty of colour in the water   gave the

If you want to fish long in comfort then look no further than the new TDSR4. Offering 16.0m of reach, delivering performance and excellent handling all the way this is the ideal model for hitting ‘high catch rate’ commercials and venues where reach and presentation are key.

The noticeable wall strength throughout is indication of the power you have at your disposal. Rated to 14 elastic on the Match kits and 20 on the Power kits there are no swims to fear with the TDSR4 pole.

Hunstanton Tackle sent a team of four juniors to The All England Junior Pole Championships this week at Westwood Lakes Boston. After a full week of practising on the venue, they finished 2nd in the team event with 8pts, just being pipped by a strong worthy Suffolk County side, who won with 6pts. Excellent section performances came from Tom Carlton (2nd in section) and Callum Leveritt (4th in section) both on Kestrel Lake. Tom Carlton having not fished for a year and Callum Leveritt more used to fishing on Docking Clay Pit, they both adapted well, and kept cool heads with very good Suffolk County anglers pegged next door to them. Over on Skylark Lake was brothers Toby and Timmy Pepper who both won there sections, with ease as was expected of the pair. On the individual result we had a great result, I will put this up soon as it is a great story. The team would like to thank there sponsor Mick Cornell of Hunstanton Tackle for his continued support, team manager Rob Pepper and Mick Stamp (Preston Innovations/Sonubaits) for helping with the coaching.

Back to one of our more consistent venues in Kelling for an early 8:30 a.m. start to catch the full ebb which seemed to deter one or two of our late sleepers.  An amazing flat calm sea greeted us with just mere ripples coming ashore.  A very slight mist to keep the sun’s glare at bay
